EDRG 3321 M&W Pickett

Author: Barbara Park

Here are three books that caught my attention.  I would love to teach first grade!  These books are about the talented first grader, Junie B., and her adventures.  The first one is about her vacation and how everything went.  It would be a great book to read to the children before breaks at school.  I could have the students write something related to Junie B.'s experiences.   The second book is about holiday celebrations and what comes along with the different opinions of each student in the classroom.  There will be many different opinions in the classroom and the teachers and students must be prepared for the diversities.  The third book explains the consequences of cheating.  It helps the children see that it is wrong to cheat on anything.  These books would be great lessons for the first graders.  Especially because Junie B. is a first grader just like the students that will be reading these books.  :)

This book is humorous.  It tells a story about a young boy named Jeff.  Jeff gets
to go on a trip with his uncle to the Sahara desert to search for dinosaur fossils.   This will get the children excited to see what will be discovered.  This is a once     in a lifetime experience and Jeff can take them along on the journey.  There are so many lessons that can be taught from this book.

  1. Good job on describing the books. My daughter is in 2nd grade and has been reading Junie B. Jones since Kindergarten. She loves the stories. I am not familiar with the book Fossil Fever but my wife is a teacher and I will see if she has it or the library at her campus.
