EDRG 3321 M&W Pickett

To the students in EDRG 3321 M&W 11:00-12:20,
Hello everyone, or should I say goodbye.  :(  The semester is ending and this will be my last blog to turn in my author profile binder.  I had a great time in this class.  All of you taught me so much valuable information.  I can't wait to start my career as a teacher.  Hopefully I will see you around and maybe someday we will teach at the same school!  That will be exciting!  Well good luck in everything and thanks again for sharing your views of becoming a teacher.  I know you will be a great one.  :)

Compare the features and instructional applications of GIS and GPS tools. How can educators use GIS and GPS tools to enhance student learning?

These information systems are great for teaching science and social studies in the classroom.  They give locations and a lot more engaging information.  The GIS is a computer system that is able to store in a database a variety of information about geographic locations.  The GPS is a worldwide radio-navigation system made possible by a bank of 24 satellites and their ground stations.  When it is connected to mapping software the possibilities are even greater.  There are many different lessons that can use each of these systems as a method in teaching.  They provide the student with information that can only be seen through these programs.

PRESENTATIONS

Whitney, Courtney, Kolbe, April, and I did our project on spiders.  We gave our presentation on Wednesday.  We started off a little slow because of the lost video.  I think this taught us a valuable lesson.  These kind of things will happen in our own classroom someday and we need to be prepared.  Our group had fun with the assignment and I hope the class enjoyed it too.  I learned a lot from this project.  Thank you for being there to share our presentation.  The other presentation will be completed on Monday.  I look forward to seeing the ending.  Overall I have enjoyed all of them.  Keep up the good work!  :)
