Sorry for missing class everyone.   I felt horrible.  :(   I know that we were supposed to bring some poetry books to class and I am sorry I couldn't make it.   

I saw that a few people were posting about poetry books for children so I figured that I could share a few books with the class too.

This book is full of poems that share the value of a pet.  Theodore is a wonderful pet with a great personality.  This book is fun and would be even better if you had your own guinea pig as a classroom pet.  The children can learn so much as far as responsibility, nurture, nature, and how to take care of certain pets.

This book is about forgiveness and apologies.  This lesson is hard for children to learn sometimes.  Poetry is not for everyone, but some kids love it and it is important that we use poems in our classrooms.  It is just as important as the diversity of literature that should be in the classroom as well.
