Chapter 4 Blog

Responding to Literature

I think that some important information in this chapter would be the tips that it gives in becoming great at responding to the children's literature. If we don't respond they will feel that the book was not even worth the effort they put into reading the material. We must keep a lot of books in our classrooms. They need to be books of all types of genres and topics. It is so important to cover the material so that they understand. We have to summarize and explain exactly what is going on. They will want to know all about each piece of literature because they are curious and ready to learn. :) We need to be aware of the different developmental characteristics that each child comes with. This chapter gives so many different activities that develop good literacy in each child. A child will continue to enjoy literature through the depth of how it is being taught to them. Get ready teachers we have an important job. Lets make the best of each day. :)
